Another from a large collection of Turkey Red cabinets we will feature in our winter and spring auctions this example of Cardinals first baseman Ed Konetchy is a beautiful example of the issue with deep rich color and vivd gloss that we rarely see in this issue. Relatively fresh to the hobby the group of cards we are featuring in this auction is literally stunning. The gloss and color on this one makes it appear to have been hand-painted on canvas which is likely the intended objective of the art when the cards were initially produced. Touches of wear at each corner that takes away their sharpness keep the card out of a higher holder.The card is one of the higher-grade examples of Konetchy with the Turkey Red advertisement on the reverse. With a much lesser graded population than those with the checklist back very few examples of this card have graded this high. In fact SGC has graded just two examples of the card higher than this; PSA just one.
