The second of a three-year run of baseball cards featuring PCL players, that were distributed inside popcorn boxes at the concession stands at Lane Field Park, then home of the San Diego Padres.  The cards were printed on thin stock, the checklist occasionally including multiple poses of its players. Due to the regional nature of their distribution, the set was weighted heavily towards San Diego players. The cards issued in 1950 were all printed in black and white, and while some of the cards are blank-backed, many include an advertisement and brief biographical or career highlights.

Higher-grade example featuring pitcher Jim Davis.  Davis played four seasons in the majors, his finest being with the 1954 Cubs, when he went 11-7 with a 3.52 ERA in 127.2 innings. This example is one of the sharpest we've seen from the issue, centered a bit low but still pleasing to the eye, with lightly touched corners and a clean image.
