The second of a three-year run of baseball cards featuring PCL players, that were distributed inside popcorn boxes at the concession stands at Lane Field Park, then home of the San Diego Padres. The cards were printed on thin stock, the checklist occasionally including multiple poses of its players. Due to the regional nature of their distribution, the set was weighted heavily towards San Diego players. The cards issued in 1950 were all printed in black and white, and while some of the cards are blank-backed, many include an advertisement and brief biographical or career highlights.
Collector-grade example of Herb Conyers' Batting pose from the issue, graded POOR 1 with virtually every condition flaw a card can have. Regardless, few other examples are the card are likely to surface, as this issue and all its cards are extremely scarce.
