Original 8" x 10" Type I photograph of Babe Ruth and his wife, Claire. Married for approximately one year at the time this image was captured, the happy couple is posed during an away contest sometime during the 1930 season. Large format example has survived almost entirely free from visible wear aside from gentle rounding of the top corners and the tiniest of tears at the top edge. Impressively clean photo is fresh to the hobby with fully intact borders, superb image quality, and pleasing tonal contrast. Credit stamping from Wide World appears towards bottom third of verso where a pencil notation and some smudging is also visible.
