Outstanding original Type I photo of New York Yankees rookie, Mickey Mantle at the plate. Dated to May 22, 1951 on verso the image hails from early in Mantle's rookie season just as he was getting his feet wet in the major leagues. By this time The Mick had only tallied four of the 536 home runs he'd blast throughout his 18 season career. 7" x 9" fresh to the hobby photo is a fabulous look at Mantle's left-handed swing with bright white borders and satisfyingly sharp corners. New York Times credit stamping has been applied to verso with carbon copy captioning above.
