Original Type I photo depicting Yogi Berra and civil rights pioneer, Jackie Robinson in the Yankees locker room prior to Game 7 of the 1956 World Series. Fresh to the hobby 7" x 9" photo appears surprisingly clean with sharp corners and full paper caption on verso dated to 10/11/1956. It was the fourth World Series between the two cross-town rivals in the last five years, with the squads facing off in 1952, 1953, 1955, and 1956. After the Dodgers bested the Yankees in seven games during the 1955 fall classic, Berra's Yankees came out on top in 1956, trouncing Brooklyn 9-0 in Game 7. Significantly, this would prove to be Jackie Robinson's final game in the major leagues, retiring that December after it was announced he had been traded to the New York Giants. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
