Grouping of cards from the 1936 National Chicle "Fine Pens" premium issue, an exceptional selection of black and white photographic cards distributed as in-store premiums, and similar in nature to the Goudey gum "Wide Pens" issue. The two manufacturers produced cards similar in size and purpose, but are distinguishable by the facsimile signatures, the "Wide Pens" typically boasting thick, large signatures, while the "Fine Pens" were more subdued, often appearing handwritten, and, well, fine.
This grouping averages FAIR in condition with some lesser and a few better. Some have writing on the reverse, and many of the cards have the players' position typewritten in the upper-left corner, which we will identify as "TW" in the following list of cards included: Almada, Andrews (missing bottom left corner), Auker (TW), Averill (HOF), Berg (TW), Berry (TW), Blanton, Bluege, Bonura, Bordagaray/Earnshaw, Bridges (TW), Byrd, Camilli (TW), Campbell (TW), Chapman (TW), Collins (TW), Cronin (HOF TW), Crosetti, Derringer, Dietrich, Doyle, Dykes "Safe", Fox, Frisch (HOF TW), Gomez, Galatzer (TW), Goslin out at first (HOF), Grove (HOF), Hack, Hale (TW), Harder (TW), Hasset, Higgins (TW), Hildebrand, Hornsby (HOF), Hudlin (TW), Kuhel (TW), Knickerbocker, Lee (TW), Lombardi says "ugh" (HOF), Lucas (trimmed top edge), Meyer (TW), Moses, Philips (TW), Rogel (TW), Rowe, Stengel (HOF), Swift (TW), Traynor (HOF TW), Vosmik (TW), Walberg (TW), Walker (TW), Walker (TW), West, Whitney, Wiltshire (TW), Young. 56 cards total.
