The 1934 R310 Butterfinger premiums were oversized photographs printed on unbelievably thin almost newsprint stock and distributed with Butterfinger candy bars. Due to the extreme lightweight paper they are very susceptible to damage of all inds - it is common to find R310s torn wrinkled or with pieces missing and many times due to their large size (7 3/4" x 9 3/4") they are found with folds pinholes and tape.

Offered here is the crown jewel of the set: Babe Ruth. This example is a tough, tinted version, which has given a somewhat colored finish to certain areas of the image. Babe's bats are yellow and his face is orange, unlike the more common version of the issue. Corners are mostly nice, with the bottom left having a small bit missing. Edge are also mostly nice, though they do exhibit some soiling, mostly evident near the bottom left corner and at the top of the left edge.

The reverse is largely clean, with only a couple soiled spots, most prominently toward the top of the center, though if you look closely, those spots align perfectly with the tinting of Babe's face, hands, and bat from the front. Regardless of the grade, the scarcity of this issue far outweighs any perceived cosmetic flaws on this example.

PSA has only ever graded 86 total examples of this 1934 R310 Butterfinger, with only twenty-six receiving a higher grade than the Fair 1.5 offered here of Hall of Famer Babe Ruth.
