Attractive partial run of 1952 Topps low number cards the majority of which are clean and presentable and featuring several Hall of Famers and stars of the era. The cards were the beginnings of a set being worked on by a long-time collector who paid close attention to overall image quality at the expense of corner and edge wear with a goal of assembling as an attractive a set as possible within the lower end of the grading scale. The result is an extremely attractive run of 131 cards representing 42% of a complete run of low numbers. The grouping includes all red backed cards (we broke out the black backs into a separate lot also featured in this auction) and does include some cream-colored backs. Included cards in this group are #2 Runnels (F) 4 9 13 14 15 Pesky (VG) 21 23 27 29 32 35 38 39 40 44 46 47 48 50 51 53 54 56 58 59 Roberts (G-VG) 60 61 62 63 65 Slaughter (G) 69 70 71 75 77 79 81 82 83 84 85 86 87 90 91 Schoendienst (VG) 92 93 94 97 99 101 102 103 104 106 108 109 112 113 114 116 117 119 120 122 123 124 128 129 Mize (VG) 130 131 134 135 137 138 142 144 145 146 147 154 159 160 161 166 167 169 171 172 173 177 182 183 193 194 197 201 202 203 206 209 210 211 (2) 212 214 215 217 218 219 220 224 225 228 229 232 233 234 236 237 238 241 243 Doby (F) 245 246 Kell (VG) 248 257 282 298 309 and one high number #402 Earl Harrist.
