Similar to its crosstown rival Boston Herald, the Boston Sunday Post also issued baseball supplements during the summer of 1909. Unlike its competitor, however, the Post focused solely on members of the Red Sox, releasing 13 supplements in total (12 issued in pairs, with Abby McConnell's supplement issued on its own). Each player is featured in both an "action" image as well as an inset portrait, with some basic biographical info and a descriptive caption printed under the player image. Printed on flimsy newsprint-style paper, the supplements are fragile and rarely found in presentable condition today. This pair features popular pitcher Eddie Cicotte with outfielder Harry Niles. The piece presents remarkably well but does exhibit a number of small flaws, such as some tiny edge tears and some minor surface wear. Eye appeal is outstanding, however, a wonderful piece, worthy of display.
