Rare aerial view of Hilltop Park, home of the New York Highlanders from 1903-1912. Shot on Opening Day - April 22, 1909, a Brown Brothers photographer has captured the Highlanders at bat while Washington's catcher, Gabby Street awaits the pitch. Despite this photo missing a large portion of the upper-left corner it remains brimming with interesting details like a large floral wreath placed in front of New York's dugout, patriotic bunting throughout the park, and press photographers surrounding home plate. 5" x 7" photo displays handwritten notations in ballpoint along the bottom border. Small paper remnants remain adhered to verso which displays three different credit stamps from Brown Brothers. Encapsulated as a Type 1 photo by PSA/DNA.
