Considered by Bill James to be the best minor league baseball player of the 1880s Bill Krieg compiled a .343 lifetime batting average in more than 3 000 minor league at bats but his stats just did not translate to the majors where a four-year career yielded a .237 average. This example card 269-6 has been graded VG 40 by SGC depicts Krieg with the St. Joseph Clay Eaters of the Western Association where Krieg hit .324 in 1889.
