A beautiful example of Charles Conlon's early work, this approx. 7.5" x 9.5" (trimmed down from 8" x 10") photo featuring third baseman Ed Lennox of the Brooklyn Dodgers is sharp and clear. The bulk of Lennox's career included two seasons with Brooklyn (1909-10) before moving to the Federal League in 1914 where he experienced a power surge, launching 11 home runs despite a grand total of six in his major league career up to that point. Photo itself is bold and free of obtrusive blemishes aside from a chip missing from the lower right corner. Verso includes Charles Conlon's personal stamping along with Conlon's handwritten ID of Lennox. Light toning is present along right side of verso (common with these photos) but is otherwise clean. This photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Guaranteed Type 1.
