In his rookie season of 1904, slugger Harry Lumley led the NL in both triples (18) and home runs (9) but, perhaps as a consequence, also emerged as the major league leader in strikeouts (106). In 1906 Lumley enjoyed his best season overall, challenging Honus Wagner for the NL batting title though his .324 average eventually landed him third behind Wagner and Harry Steinfeldt. Central image of this 8" x 10" photo is sharp and bold though wear is present to three corners that is heavier to the top right, with a chip missing from bottom left. Chipping is also present to the right edge. Verso exhibits light toning and there are a few small, modern handwritten notations along with a small white sticker. Charles Conlon's personal stamping is present, along with his handwritten identification of Lumley. Photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Guaranteed Type 1.
