One of two Harry Krause 8" x 10" Charles Conlon photos in this auction (the other a stunning portrait). Here, Conlon has captured the southpaw, Krause warming up with joy on the sidelines at Hilltop Park in Upper Manhattan. Krause toed the rubber for Philadelphia Athletics squads of 1908-1912, starting the 1909 season with 10 consecutive wins, including six shutouts, ultimately finishing the season with an 18-8 record while leading the American League with a 1.39 ERA. Central image of this photo remains quite attractive though heavy chipping is present throughout, especially to all four corners and the top edge. Verso features Charles Conlon's personal stamping along with Conlon's handwritten identification of Krause. A modern white sticker is present along with a few small modern notations in ballpoint. This photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Guaranteed Type 1.
