One of these examples where we cannot say enough about how thankful we are to have such great customers.

This statue was a centerpiece of a Babe Ruth display in the collection of Ted Patterson.  Along with the rest of Ted's collection, it was consigned to Love of the Game, and we moved everything to our offices before the beginning of the pandemic.  Unfortunately, with Ted's passing went the knowledge of the artist, and all our research could not identify the source of this piece.

Yesterday an astute collector kindly pointed out that this piece was created by a sculptor named Susan Luery, who created the spectacular 16-foot sculpture outside the Babe Ruth museum in Baltimore.  With new information coming in about the origin of this piece, we have elected to withdraw it from our auction and re-list it in our Spring sale, with further detail provided directly by the artist.  While we understand that bids had been placed on the item, we also feel it is important to provide proper descriptions, and since the information we learned today fundamentally changes the description of this piece - right down to the material it is made of - the right thing to do here is relist the item with more accurate and complete information.
