Beautiful postcard issued by Bachrach & Bro. of Baltimore, picturing the classic Baltimore Orioles teams of 1894-1896. Celebrated throughout baseball history, these Orioles clubs were known for their heady, hustling and occasionally rule-breaking style of play, and featured seven future Hall of Famers: Dan Brouthers, Ned Hanlon (Manager), Hughie Jennings, Willie Keeler, Joe Kelley, John McGraw, and Wilbert Robinson. It is no coincidence that three of the game's legendary managers were part of this club, and one could draw a straight line through baseball history via the managing styles of Billy Martin and Casey Stengel, straight back to McGraw.
This postally-unused card depicts a classic photo of the club, graded GOOD+ 2.5 by SGC with some light wear to the corners and a very small corner crease at the lower right. A second very light surface wrinkle is observable on the reverse, through the center of the card.
