Beautiful postcard identified only by a dollar sign inside a shield on the card reverse, one of a set manufactured by the Suhling Company of Chicago and featuring members of the Chicago Cubs and White Sox. Suhling, later the Suhling & Kohn Company of Chicago, was a publisher of regional postcards, baseball cards and holiday cards between 1904 and 1912. There are 20 known postcards in this issue (11 Cubs and 9 White Sox), all particularly scarce, featuring a black and white player image with hand-lettered player name and team information at the bottom of the card. The Standard Catalog theorizes that the 20-card checklist is not complete and that additional examples will materialize from the set. This example is quite beautiful, the technical grade of POOR rendered due to extensive glue and paper remnants on the reverse from scrapbook removal.
