1918 letter dated January 4 from Ban Johnson to Ed Barrow of the International League asking (very politely) for repayment on a loan of $5000 that was extended to the League "during the Federal League period." Johnson asks for payment of the entire amount without interest. The letter is printed on American League letterhead light wear and discoloration at the folds and a stray mark at the upper left. A checkmark appears in pencil at the center of the letter a common trait in business correspondence at the time to confirm that the letter has been red. Johnson applied his signature in black ink at the bottom a clean and legible signature. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
