Tremendous supplement of some sort to the New York Recorder featuring the New York Giants circa 1892. The team is posed in front of a full grandstand players including Hall of Famers Buck Ewing Jim O'Rourke Amos Rusie and Mickey Welch along with Jack Boyle Piano Legs Gore Denny Lyons Shorty Fuller and more. Matted to a size of 14" x 11" the piece is a colorized illustration from a photo of the team and mascot colorful patriotic bunting hanging from the outfield and grandstand walls. The players identified underneath the image "N.Y. Recorder Souvenir" printed at the lower left. Though the matte prohibits us from making a thorough inspection of the edges we can see small edge tears on all four sides along with some writing on the reverse. The surface is exceptional a tiny puncture virtually impossible to see. An outstanding image.
