1871 document relating to the Troy Haymakers the club's first season in the National Association of Professional Base Ball Players. Approximately 4 3/4" x 8" dated October 8 1871 the letter was issued to Mr. Jos. A. Eddy a club shareholder asking for payment so that they club can settle its accounts for the season. Perhaps the best-known player on the club was Lipman Pike known as the first-ever Jewish baseball player. The document is in excellent condition mailing folds evident along with some mild foxing and very minor areas of discoloration on the reverse.
