Simply spectacular wooden pail measuring nearly 12" in height its top 14" in diameter with the colorful graphics of Kimball & Co's Peerless Tobacco brand emblazoned on all sides. Obviously well-worn the metal bands aound the pail still hold the wood sturdily in place the lid covering the top still revealing some faint painted writing which appears to read "Mr. A Hart" and "Friendship" underneath. The graphics are also well-worn separated as each of the bucket's wooden planks have gradually separated with age. Still the imagery on the piece is wonderfully attractive and still colorful an outstanding decorative item that remains quite functional. Ths is the only example of this pail our research has uncovered. We are uncertain of its intended use though the lid of the pail seals well enough that it was likely a very tight seal back in the late 1800s. It may well have been some sort of retail storage display designed to store tobacco packages and maintain humidity much like a humidor. An outstanding display a wonderful piece of tobacciana and an excellent companion piece to any Kimball's baseball card collection.
I have one to sell!
