The illustration depicts a game that occurred on Thursday August 6 in New York a 1-0 win for the New York team. Ewing as noted in the title is scoring the winning run ahead of Flint's tag as the umpire looks on. Beautifully colored the woodcut makes for a wonderful display despite a corner clip at the lower-right.
