Lot Description  

New York Journal-American photographic premium featuring a Brooklyn Dodgers team photo during Jackie Robinson's first season with the team. In FAIR condition the piece certainly exhibits wear; some staining and creasing (particularly at the corners) reduces its technical grade. An excellent lineup of players is featured in the photo including Robinson and fellow Hall of Famers Pee Wee Reese and Arky Vaughan along with Dodgers favorites Gil Bodges Gene Hermanski Ralph Branca Pete Reiser Cookie Lavagetto and Carl Furillo. A wonderful piece important due to the appearance of the rookie Jackie Robinson.
