I have one to sell!
Game 4 of the 1947 World Series was an absolute classic. Yankees pitcher Bill Bevens went 8 2/3 innings without yielding a hit entering the 9th with a 2-1 lead. At the time no pitcher had ever thrown a no-hitter in a Major League World Series game. Sandwiching two outs around a walk to Carl Furillo the Dodgers intentionally walked pinch hitter Pete Reiser after pinch runner Al Gionfriddo stole second base. With Eddie Miksis pinch-hitting for Reiser Cookie Lavagetto hitting for Eddie Stanky lined a base hit off the right-field wall that hit Yankees outfielder Tommy Henrich in the shoulder bouncing away as Miksis and Gionfriddo scored giving Brooklyn a 3-2 come-from-behind victory. Though the Dodgers would lose the series in 7 the game would remain legendary in Dodgers history the game-winning hit being the final hit of Gionfriddo's career. The two stubs present extremely well but are technically in collector grade due to glue stains on the reverse from being mounted in a scrapbook. The same can be said for the scorecard. However as we have noted in the past this scrapbook damage has also preserved the pieces so that their display value is extraordinary. A wonderful collection of Dodgers memorabilia from one of their most legendary games. Three pieces total.
