British champion Jim "Jem" Driscoll came to the US in 1908 looking for a shot at the title. Unfortunately he faced Abe Attell in 1910 but unable to knock out his opponent he was not awarded the championship despite dominating the fight. That was the closest he would get his career interrupted by World War I. An attractive midgrade card this Driscoll has a clean front with even gloss and deep color. Corner rounding and moderate edge chipping is consistent with this issue and the reverse though clean contains some minor subtle staining. Still examples of this quality do not make themselves available often.
