Three postcards from the prolific Dana Studios three of hundreds of photographic postcards produced by the San Francisco studio chronicling the "Battle of the Century" between Jim Jeffries and Jack Johnson of the event itself as well as the time leading up to it.Included here are three postcards none of which have been postally used. While none feature in-fight action two focus inside the ring including card #57 which depicts musicians in the ring (perhaps pre-fight) and #23 which features Tim Sullivan and Billy Jordan in the ring. The Johnson/Jeffries fight remains one of the most famous and widely-chronicled boxing matches in history. Each with strong contrast and visual appeal the postcards all grade in the G/VG range due to age-related wear (and a small tear at the top of card #23) with mild staining and unobtrusive writing on the reverses a few creases and corner wear.
