I have one to sell!
Primarily issued in 1910 the Plow Boy Tobacco is a set of 49 known subjects issued by the Spaulding & Merrick Company and distributed in exchange for coupons. The cards are among the rarest of all tobacco issues today with fewer than 100 graded examples known. The cards all featuring members of the Chicago Cubs or White Sox feature beautiful player photos set against a white background. That coupled with the white card backs result in significant condition issues. Shano Collins played first base for the 1910 White Sox his rookie season when he hit just .197. Eventually Collins was moved to right field where he would remain with the team until after the 1920 season. Collins was not one of those implicated in the 1919 World Series scandal and after moving to the Red Sox he continued to play into the 1925 season. The card graded VG 40 is extremely attractive with some mild soiling and corner/edge wear consistent with the grade. The reverse is clean (the SGC holder displays a crack on the reverse but there is no damage to the card). An exceptional find from a very rare issue.
