Collection of tickets commemorating the final game at Baltimore's Memorial Stadium as well as the first game at Camden Yards. Memorial Stadium was constructed first in 1922 and then rebuilt in 1950 (initially called "Babe Ruth Stadium). After the stadium was rebuilt it hosted the Orioles as well as the Baltimore Colts. On October 6 1991 the stadium saw its final game the end of a 90-loss season for the Baltimore Orioles. The Detroit Tigers defeated the Orioles 7-1 with the only drama being the question of who would throw the final pitch at Memorial Stadium. That pitcher turned out to be Frank Tanana inducing Cal Ripken Jr. to ground into a double play. A final sendoff including more than 100 former Orioles ended the night. This collection includes two tickets from that fateful night - one terrace box ticket in EX/MT condition and one lower box season ticket in G/VG condition both displaying well. Oriole Park at Camden Yards opened with great fanfare on April 6 1992. The beautiful new park set the standards for modern ballparks that so many teams aspire to today but Camden Yards is still considered among the most beautiful. The Orioles defeated Chuck Nagy and the Indians behind the shutout pitching of Rick Sutcliffe Baltimore's sole run coming on an RBI single by catcher Chris Hoiles. This gorgeous commemorative ticket is in EX/MT condition with some very minor edge and corner chipping.
