Didier "Cannonball" Pitre was a right-winger and defenseman renowned for possessing one of the hardest shots of his day. He played professionally from 1904-23, including for the Montreal Canadiens in their inaugural season of 1909, remaining with the club for the duration of his career aside from one season of play with the Vancouver Millionares of 1913-14. Pitre was a member of a Canadiens team that captured their very first of now 24 Stanley Cup championships and was later inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1963. This 1910 Sweet Caporal Hockey Postcard of Pitre, #41 in the set, exhibits rounding at the corners with a tiny crease visible at the upper-left. Some darker discoloration is present along the bottom edge. Otherwise, a gorgeous card with clean central image and postally-unused back. Graded VG 3 by PSA it remains one of only 13 graded examples across both PSA and SGC's population reports combined.

Please note: our printed catalog displays "RC" in the title indicating rookie card status. This is in-fact considered a second year card for Pitre, consistent with his C55 issue.
