Chicago's West Side Park, home to the National League's Chicago Cubs from 1893-1915, was prominently featured on several ballpark postcards of the day. This version, featuring an advertisement from A.G. Spalding at the bottom edge, is one of the toughest iterations to secure. Extremely scarce in any condition, the card exhibits considerable rounding at the corners with a few creases and some degree of visible soiling to the surface. Postally used card has been postmarked in May of 1910 and is a companion to the equally scarce Polo Grounds ballpark postcard with A.G. Spalding advertising found elsewhere in this auction. While we did submit this card for grading with SGC, it was returned to us unholdered.
