Approx. 34" x 34" blue tapestry displaying the team logo of Japan's c.1964-68 Tokyo Orions. Cloth remains fully intact with no visible signs of wear or damage and central logo appears impressively clean and bright, likely untouched. Originating from the collection of Clyde King who pitched for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the late 1940's and early 1950's, later managing both the San Francisco Giants (1970) and New York Yankees (1982). King is known to have traveled to Japan with the San Francisco Giants in 1970 and we can only assume that he returned home with this tapestry along with the many other Japanese baseball-related mementos consigned to us from his personal collection. The Orions are known today as the Chiba Lotte Marines of Japan's Pacific League.
