1947 photo album originating from the personal collection of Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer, Ted Williams. 22 original large format photos, measuring 8" x 10", are fully or partially adhered within the album (some appear to have been partially removed but left in place). Front of the album includes a typed letter signed by The Bangor Daily News managing editor, John M. O'Connell Jr., indicating this was sent to Williams as a remembrance of his 24-hr visit to Bangor, ME in July of 1947. All photos show Williams out of uniform while enjoying outdoor and fishing-related activities, with several original newspaper clippings from The Bangor Daily News affixed to back pages. Several fantastic images of the handsome and confident Williams are included but note that the album has come into contact with moisture during it's lifetime and most of the photos suffer from some degree of green discoloration.
