Absolutely tremendous 1940's snapshot photo of a young Jackie Roosevelt Robinson. Shot at Wrigley Field in Chicago, bright and clean photo measures approximately 2.75" x 4.5" with just a touch of abrasion visible to the extreme corners. Significantly, though it has not been confirmed, a handwritten notation attributing this image to 1947 has been applied at center of verso. Faint "Velox" stamping appears several times on verso, which is critical given that after 1947 Velox stamping appeared as "Velox Kodak." 1947 was, of course, Jackie's rookie season in which he broke major league baseball's color line on Opening Day, integrating the game for the first time in the modern era. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
