1930 Type I photo of Babe Ruth with Swedish-American wood carver and sculptor, Carl Hallsthammer. Unusual 8" x 10" photo depicts Hallsthammer putting the finishing touches on a depiction of the Bambino while the pair stand together at Comiskey Park in Chicago. Two years Hallsthammer continued his apparent interest in sports by participating in the sports-related art competition at the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Some chipping is present to corners of this photo, with what appears to be a catalog number written within the bottom border. Credit stamping from Underwood has been covered by a paper label from the Bettman archive on verso, and an Underwood paper caption providing context remains affixed at the top edge. Authenticated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA and their full LOA is provided.
