Attractive pair of early stereoviews, both featuring baseball-related imagery. Collection includes: 1) 1865-70 team photo: team members wear uniforms with "O.P." emblazoned across the chests. "O.P." stands for "Old Point," the name of the famous lighthouse at Fort Monroe, VA. The photo was likely taken soon after the end of the Civil War. G-VG appearance with some corner wear, overall soiling, and handwritten notations on the reverse. 2) Baseball action image as part of a scene in front of the Boar's Head Hotel in Hampton Beach, NJ. Similar green stereo views date between 1861 and 1873, though this is likely dated to 1871, as indicated online. GOOD condition with some light creasing and soiling, as well as handwritten notations on the reverse. The proprietor's name, as written on the reverse, S.H. Dumas, was proprietor between 1866 and 1893. Two stereoviews total.
