5" x 4" folded scorecard for a baseball game between the Yale and Harvard teams.  Some handwritten notations have been made inside the scorecard, including a date of June 1, 1872 written in pencil within the top margin. 1872 was the first season of intercollegiate baseball at Yale, and their scorecard includes Al Nevin, who would play professionally with the 1873 Elizabeth Resolutes. By 1872 Harvard was into its eighth intercollegiate baseball season, the first season at Harvard for pitcher Jim Tyng (not represented in the scorecard).  The scorecard is partially scored, heavily worn at the spine, which has separated about a third of the way across.  Significant staining is apparent on the outer panels, along with scrapbook remnants from a long-ago Yale fan. POOR condition, yet still attractive.
