c.1940's Type I photo of a young Stan Musial at Ebbets Field. A wonderful look at the legendary Musial at the start of his career, posing confidently with a beaming smile as he bats from the left side. Edges of the photo have been unevenly trimmed around the perimeter, with overall dimensions measuring 6.5" x 8". Credit stamping from Acme Newspictures has been applied to verso below several handwritten notations, one of which reads "cover possibility," a testament to the attractiveness of this early shot of the beloved Cardinal. One the greatest hitters of all-time, Stan The Man was a three-time NL MVP, seven-time NL batting champion and 24-time All-Star. His 22-year career yielded three World Series championships with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1942, 1944, and 1946 and he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969, his first year of eligibility. Authenticated by PSA/DNA as a Type I photo and their full LOA is included.
