1930 large format photograph featuring Babe Ruth batting at Yankees camp in St. Petersburg, FL. The 35-year-old Bambino is shown training in his usual spring attire of pinstriped pants, a white top, and white socks as he drives the ball. Ruth would lead the American League in homers once more that season, rapping out 49 round-trippers, second only to Hack Wilson of the Chicago Cubs who finished with 54. Some degree of toning is present to both surfaces, with waviness typical of news service photos created in a darkroom at the top and bottom edges. Both right-hand corners have gently chipped away but those areas remain constrained to within the borders. A few unobtrusive creases at the top that in no way impact the central image of Ruth and his catcher. Credit stamping from Pacific & Atlantic has been applied to verso below a handwritten inscription that reads: "Babe Ruth slamming one out in practice." A fresh to the hobby example from the Durham Find of Historic Baseball Photography. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
