Pair of news service photos illustrating plays from Games 1 and 6 of the 1952 World Series. A total of nine Hall of Famers are present between the two images: Roy Campanella, Bill Dickey (as a coach), Gil Hodges, Mickey Mantle, Johnny Mize, Pee Wee Reese, Phil Rizzuto, Jackie Robinson, and Duke Snider. Both photos include dated paper captions that remain affixed, with credit stamping from both the Associated press and New York Times applied to verso. Pair includes: 1) Expansive shot of Ebbets Field during Game 1 as Mantle bunts up the third base lane, advancing Rizzuto. 8" x 10" photo with some visible toning to top and bottom borders and a small tear in the upper-right corner. 2) Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese attempt to turn a double play in Game 6 as Mize races down to second. 7" x 9" photo in superb overall condition, with some toning where paper caption was once stored folder over the front. Both photos include diagrams presenting how the depicted plays developed. By nature, such photos are considered Type III under PSA's system, as the diagrams would have been placed over existing photos, then a duplicate negative created to produce the offered examples. Both photos are guaranteed to return as Type III if submitted to PSA for authentication.
