Sluggers from the 104-win 1929 Philadelphia Athletics pose for photographers in this 8" x 10" Type I photo. A fabulous depiction of the starting outfield for Connie Mack's A's (Mule Haas, Bing Miller, Al Simmons), along with first baseman Jimmie Foxx and catcher Mickey Cochrane. One of the greatest teams of the era with Cochrane, Foxx, and Simmons among five future Hall of Famers on the roster along with Lefty Grove and Eddie Collins, mostly serving in a coaching role. Full paper caption on verso indicates the image was captured on 9/16/1929, just two weeks prior to this iteration of the Athletics besting the Chicago Cubs in the 1929 World Series. Fresh to the hobby example with some only the faintest of creasing to corners. Large credit stamping from International has been applied to verso where both a paper caption and handwritten identifiers of each player appear. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
