Large 1929 World Series photo from prior to Game 3 of the Fall Classic at Shibe Park. Rogers Hornsby and Hack Wilson of the Chicago Cubs pose with Al Simmons and Jimmie Foxx of the Philadelphia Athletics in this terrific 8" x 10" look at four of baseball's biggest stars of the era. Hornsby and Wilson would bang out five hits between them that afternoon in a 3-1 Cubs victory, their only of the series. Fresh to the hobby example appears gently sepia toned with no significant or obvious signs of wear to the emulsion surface. Some degree of toning is apparent to verso which includes a large paper caption affixed along the top that has been dated to 10/11/1929; the day Game 3 of the 1929 World Series took place in Philadelphia.
