27-year-old Don Larsen famously tossed the only perfect game in World Series history during Game 5 of the 1956 World Series at Yankee Stadium. In the years and decades to follow, the often reproduced image of Yogi Berra jumping into Larsen's arms after striking out Dale Mitchell for the final out has become one of the single most recognizeable baseball-related images ever captured. Less than 24 hours later, the offered original Type I photograph of the three men directly responsible for Larsen's momentous achievement was taken at Ebbets field prior to Game 6. Exceptional photograph of Larsen, Berra, and umpire Babe Pinelli posing for photographers boasts fantastic image quality with bright white borders, sharp corners, and impressively smooth emulsion surface. Full paper caption dated to 10/09/56 (the date of Game 6) remains affixed along top edge of verso with credit stampings from both the Associated Press and the New York Times below. Overall dimensions of 7" x 9". Authenticated by PSA/DNA as a Type I photo and their full LOA is included.
