Issued between 1914 and 1916 the Type 2 Coupon Cigarettes cards feature players from the American National and Federal Leagues and utilize identical poses to the T206 cards. However T213s are easily distinguishable by their backs and Type 2 Coupons are easily distinguishable by the blue type on the card face. T213 Coupons were distributed solely in Louisiana making them much less plentiful than their T206 counterparts. While the current checklist numbers 188 cards there are numerous variations and it is entirely possible that the checklist is not complete at 188 cards.While the Type 2 coupon cards are the most commonly found of the three different Coupon Cigarettes issues of 1910-19 the surfaces were treated with a surface gloss that is particularly susceptible to cracking making top-condition cards extremely rare. This example graded VG 40 by SGC is extremely strong for the grade with solid centering and a beautiful image and slight wear on the reverse that does not distract from the card"s attractiveness.
