Issued by the Ligget & Myers Tobacco Company in 1913 with their Fatima brand of cigarettes a complete set of T200 Fatima cards consists of sixteen team cards (eight from each league). The 4 3/4 x 2 5/8" cards were produced on lightweight photographic paper printed in black and white with a golden brown border. The back of each card features a special offer for redeeming 40 coupons for an enlarged premium.Today the cards are highly collectible and very scarce with many of the team cards containing some of the more popular Hall of Famers of the era.Presented here is a group of seven off-grade examples most of which have been trimmed at the edges and several of which have had the Fatima brand cut away from the front. Our best guess is that these had been arranged in some sort of display or album. While the borders and Fatima brand have been trimmed away on four of the cards and the majority of the others have also had some sort of trimming (though the Washington team one of the more scarce in the set seems to have most or all of its borders) all seven team images present very well.The T200 Fatima team card set is a very expensive and scarce proposition for any collector. Rarely are multiple cards presented all at once and when they are they are most certainly not affordable for many collectors. This is an opportunity for a collector who is less concerned with condition to obtain nearly half the set including some of the more scarce examples. Though the cards suffer from trimming corner clips creases and in some cases tears the team images are all clear and bold and all the player names are legible. Presented here are the following: Cincinnati Nationals Brooklyn Nationals Pittsburgh Nationals (featuring Honus Wagner) Boston Americans (one of the more scarce cards in the set) St. Louis Nationals Washington Americans (untrimmed featuring Walter Johnson) and Philadelphia Americans (featuring Connie Mack Eddie Collins Frank Baker and Eddie Plank).A rare opportunity for a collector to get a start on an affordable T200 Fatima set.
