Attractive 8" x 10" Type I photo of future Hall of Fame manager, Joe McCarthy in his crisp home whites. McCarthy is pictured in 1930 while with the Chicago Cubs, one season prior to beginning his tenure with the New York Yankees from 1931-1946. McCarthy, the first manager to ever win pennants in both the American and National Leagues, would ultimately achieve a record seven World Series titles in the Bronx (1932, 1936-39, 1941, 1943), a number equaled only by fellow longtime New York player and manager, Casey Stengel. Superb original photograph is fresh to the hobby and remains in excellent condition throughout with full paper caption on verso describing pennant aspirations for the Cubs. Credit stamping from Wide World has been applied below the paper caption. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
