Attractive 5" x 7" Type I action photo depicting future Hall of Famer, Grover Cleveland Alexander in his well-worn St. Louis Cardinals uniform. A spectacular look at Old Pete later in his career when he helped lead the Cardinals to two National League pennants (1926, 1928), besting the New York York Yankees over seven games to capture the 1926 World Series. According to the dated paper caption on verso, Alexander is pictured here on 09/28/1928, one week prior to the start of the 1928 Fall Classic. Extreme lower-right corner of this photo has chipped away but any missing paper remains constrained to to within the borders. Clean verso includes large credit stamping from International as well as the aforementioned paper caption still affixed at the top edge. This fresh to the hobby example has been authenticated and encapsulated as a Type I photo by PSA/DNA.
