Historic 6" x 8.5" restrike depicting two of the Deadball Era's greatest outfielders, Ty Cobb and Tris Speaker. A 1921 image developed from the original negative and issued in 1926, this photo falls just outside of PSA's two year window for Type I status. Cobb and Speaker are sharing a laugh while Speaker is showing off his special "Worlds Champions" uniform, worn by the Indians in 1921 following their World Series victory over the Brooklyn Robins in 1920. Fresh to the hobby photograph has a small chip to the lower-left corner but otherwise displays beautifully. Verso includes full paper caption, dated 12/08/26, describing how both former player/managers had recently retired from the game following the 1926 season. Credit stamping from both Acme and the Cleveland Plain Dealer remain present below the affixed paper caption. Authenticated and Encapsulated as a Type II photo by PSA/DNA.
