Enormous large format matted photo depicting Babe Ruth with former National League president (1935-51) and Baseball Commissioner (1951-65), Ford Frick. Frick has signed and inscribed the 11" x 14" photo in blue fountain pen "Best Wishes/to Allen Snyder/from/Ford Frick." A particularly early signature dating to Frick's time as the "ghostwriter" for Babe Ruth when, as a sportswriter, he penned many of The Bambino's syndicated newspaper columns of the 1920's-30's. The photo, which appears to be a vintage second-generation print, has been mounted onto a heavy mat board backing. Matting measuring 13.25" x 16.75" has been placed over the photo but a considerable portion appears to be lifting away at the top. Lower-right corner of the mat board is also damaged but does not appear to impact the photo itself. Includes full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
