Redeemable for coupons given with copies of the Detroit Free Press in the summer of 1935, this unnumbered, oversized (9" x 11") set contained 18 subjects, each colorized portraits of Tigers players set inside a red, green or blue frame. Each of these beautiful lightweight paper images are printed on semi-glossy magazine-like paper and are often susceptible to the type of wear common to large-format cards: pinholes, tape stains, paper pulls and back damage. Presented is a grouping of four of the oversized "cards," including the keys of Hank Greenberg and Charles Gehringer (HOF). Despite being colorful and attractive, each exhibits varying degrees of foxing and light staining, with some mild surface wear and wrinkling in places, particular at the top border of the Gehringer (which also exhibits uneven discoloration that appears to be water staining along the left and bottom edge). Collection includes Gehringer and Greenberg along with Schoolboy Rowe and Gerald Walker. All grade GOOD except Gehringer, closer to POOR despite strong eye appeal. Four pieces total.
